The award is presented to a firm for its excellence, achievement, and commitment to providing legal services to the District of Columbia’s low income and/or disadvantaged individuals and/or organizations serving such individuals.
- 1. Nominees for the Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year (D.C. office) should have, in calendar year 2022:
- Provided legal assistance to persons of limited means through the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center and/or another D.C. nonprofit legal services provider;
- Provided legal assistance to individuals, groups, or nonprofit organizations in the District of Columbia seeking to secure or protect civil rights, civil liberties, or public rights that helped low income and/or disadvantaged individuals in the District;
- Provided legal assistance and/or training to District-based community nonprofits and/or small disadvantaged businesses that serve the District’s low-income communities; or
- Advanced public policy and/or court reform that favorably affected low income and/or disadvantaged individuals in the District.
- Nominations for Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year should include information about only the D.C. office.
- The Bar reserves the right not to give an award in any given year.
