Pro Bono Center Operations Update: COVID-19
Individuals seeking legal assistance during the COVID-19 restrictions can find up-to-date information about D.C. legal services providers on the LawHelp coronavirus page. People seeking legal help should continue to access LawHelp. The Pro Bono Center’s Legal Information Help Line at 202-626-3499 operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, providing information on legal topics in Spanish, Amharic and French, in addition to English.
Landlord Tenant Resource Center (LTRC)
LTRC provides free legal information to both unrepresented tenants and small landlords who have residential housing disputes in the District of Columbia. While the in-person, court-based Landlord Tenant Resource Center is closed, tenants or small landlords seeking legal information can call 202-780-2575 for help.
Consumer Law Resource Center (CLRC)
CLRC provides information regarding small claims cases, debt collection, rent deposit recovery, and other consumer matters. The Consumer Law Resource Center is temporarily not accepting new intakes. For now, please call the Legal Information Help Line at 202-626-3499 to find appropriate legal help.
Family Law Assistance Network (FLAN)
FLAN offers individuals confidential, free legal advice or representation in custody, child support, parentage, and divorce cases. Individuals with questions about D.C. family law cases or who need help filing a pleading with the Domestic Relations Branch can speak with an attorney from one of the three participating organizations (D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center, D.C. Affordable Law Firm, and the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia) by calling 202-844-5428.
